James Harden Extends with Houston

Yesterday, the Houston Rockets extended the contract of All-Star guard James Harden through the 2019 – 20 season. This deal will pay Harden just over $118 million.

Even though the Rockets went just 41 – 41 last season, Harden averaged career highs in points (29ppg) and assists (7.5). The Rockets were eventually eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Golden State Warriors.

The Rockets have changed a lot since the season ended. They have hired new head coach Mike D’Antoni and added Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon.

As Harden stated, “This is home for me.”
