Ortega KOs Guida
The fight was over. There were just fifteen seconds left on the clock in the final round of the fight.
Clay Guida had this fight won. He won rounds one and two, and even without round three, he would’ve won the fight.
Then, the improbable happened. A baby flew in from the sky….just kidding.
Ortega, snaps a couple jabs, 30 seconds on the clock, Guida starts to retreat, probably trying to kill the clock.
Ortega continues forward, Guida on the fence now, Guida leans over, and Ortega cripples Guida with a thunderous knee to the jaw. Lights out.
As Kevin Hart would say, “night night”.
There were fifteen seconds left! Guida had this in the bag! I just feel bad for the guy is all. This was the surprise of the night, thanks to the way this ended.
I can only think of two finishes that came with less than fifteen seconds on the clock. Frankie Edgar vs Cub Swanson, which I believe had four seconds left on the clock, and Demetrious Johnson vs Kyoji Horiguchi.
The latter fight, get this, had ONE second left on the clock. ONE second. That’s right, I’d hate to be that guy. But, to be fair, it was against a phenomenal opponent in UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious “Might Mouse” Johnson.
But, really. Fifteen seconds. Remember, it’s not over until the fat lady sings.
