Sun Devils Harry and Robertson honored

The Arizona State Sun Devils not only defeated the Utah Utes 38 – 20 on Saturday, but wide receiver N’Keal Harry and linebacker Merlin Robertson won Pac-12 offensive and defensive players of the week respectively.

Harry had 161 yards receiving on 9 catches and 3 touchdowns. He caught touchdown passes of 3, 23 and 61-yards. The 61-yard touchdown put the Sun Devils up 28 – 20 and they never looked back on their way to victory.

This is the second week of honors for Harry, he won the Pac-12 special teams player of the week the previous week.

On the other side of the ball, Robertson was a key figure in helping hold the Utes to only 20 points, as they can in to Sun Devil stadium averaging 41-points per game in their last four games.

Robertson, who previously won national defensive player of the year in the Sun Devils win over Michigan State, had nine tackles and an interception in the win over the Utes.

According to the ASU press release, this marks the first time an offensive and defensive player have been named Pac-12 Players of the Week for the same team for the same week since 1993.

When asked about Harry, Sun Devils head football coach Herm Edwards said, “One is One (Harry’s uniform number), he’s a special player. We ask him to do a little bit of everything. He’s been special the last 2 week (with) five touchdown the last two weeks.
